I know, I know it has been a while...

Fall fun at the Jones' house consists of carving pumpkins, playing outside, jumping in the leaves, etc. etc., and this year.... RENOVATING a bathroom....

Anna Claire had an absolutely wonderful time carving pumpkins... She drew faces on each of the pumpkins, one for Chris, one for me, and one for her... We carved them exactly as she drew them... needless to say this was hilarious... See the picture below...

Our next big adventure was raking up ALL the five gazillion, and yes I mean, the five GAZILLION leaves that have fallen in our yard... I must say I love it and Anna Claire throughly enjoyed jumping the the leaf pile... This was taken before I discovered the huge black widow and lovely snake lurking under another pile of leaves I raked. No pictures of them, I was in a little bit of a panic... I was home by myself, and I must say, I chopped it head off all by myself and killed the black widow.... Fun, adventurous day at the Jones' household!

Next, I decided about a week ago to have a wonderful family fun Halloween party, complete with bonfire, hot dog and marshmallow roast, bobbing for apples, painting pumpkins and all sorts of other
"Halloweeny" games... These are the table centerpieces I created...

This is the reason my husband thinks I am crazy for throwing a party.... We are in the midst of this.... RENOVATING ANNA CLAIRE'S BATHROOM!!!

AND, needless to say and ready to pull out my hair, I am a terrible mother and wife! LOL This is what we had for dinner.....

The only natural part of this dinner was the all natural fiber enriched hot dogs buns!  Okay enough for tonight.... I need a good laugh... Modern Family and a heating pad for this terribly painful back I have sound just like Heaven right now....Happy Fall Y'all! Be back soon with more randomness! :o)

P.S. When we went to the wonderful world of WalMart, this is what AC decided she wanted to take home to her daddy... What would we do without him???

The Leaves are Fallin'

So, yesterday we walked outside and Anna Claire said, "Mommy, it's fallin'." She was talking about the leaves, and finally we have the temperatures to go with the season! So, today, I decided to celebrate the season. Anna Claire and I made caramel apples and a ghost family to decorate our side garage entrance with. We had a ball. I have also gotten a lot of serious seasonal sewing done. I will be back later with more Fall crafts and a tutorial for the outdoor ghosts. Happy Fall Y'all!!!

We will miss you Granny...

Last night Heaven sure did get a sweet, sweet angel. My little Granny passed away at 9:58 pm. She was a lover of God, her family, her sweet great-grandbabies, her friends (Who were all upper 70s-80s and acted like high school girls. It was so sweet!), sonic diet cokes, onion rings, Braves baseball, the penny slots in Tunica, helping others, going to church, riding little horsies on her knees (I know they were worn out), cooking (when Pa would let her in his kitchen), saying exactly what was on her mind (I loved her for that!), corn flakes and bananas, playing rook (actually playing any game for that matter and cheating I might add...), chewing gum, just to name a few. She was one of the funniest, sweetest, loving, and selfless people I have ever known. Not a day will go by that I won't think about her. I have some very sweet memories to remember her by, and I am so thankful to call her my grandmother. I know my Pa was so happy to welcome her home to Heaven last night. They loved each other more that I have ever seen. Their love was so true for one another. He used to call her "old woman." They fought like cats and dogs, but not one day went by that we didn't know how much they loved each other or us! I know Granny is in Heaven dancing and singing with Jesus and is pain free. She is celebrating being reunited with all of those that she has missed so much over the years. What a wonderful night and day she has had in Heaven rejoicing! This verse will forever remind me of Granny and her battle with cancer.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord,
the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day--
and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."
2 Timothy 4:7-8

Granny will for ever be my Queen, and now she has her crown in Heaven. I know I will see her again someday. As for now, Granny I will miss you, I love you, and thank you for all the lessons you taught me here on Earth. Your faith in the Lord was a reminder of just how important it is to love the Lord and always follow the path He prepares for us.

My Granny on her 83rd birthday, just 13 days before she left us to be with Jesus.

Well, here it goes....

I have wanted to start a blog for some time now outlining our daily lives, all of our "new" "old" house renovations, and new activities, crafts, and recipes I try... I have actually made a few different accounts, but never truly kept up with it... So with lots of prayers, maybe I will keep up with this one...

As I type, I am sitting here on the couch with the two most important people in my life enjoying our first real family vacation, just the 3 of us... We are at Seacrest Beach (between Seaside and Panama City Beach) and we are LOVING it! It has been just what we have needed to get away from the everyday stresses of life and just enjoy each other. I must say, the house we are staying in is beautiful. The owner's named the house "Just Right" and I must say, the name they picked was "Just Right!" It is perfect! Pictures coming soon of this beautiful house, but for now, I will start with a few of my favortie pics of the trip thus far....

Despite being scared to death of the pool and jelly fish I might add, Anna Claire has overcome her fear! She has really enjoyed playing in the water this week! Praise the Lord! Chris and I are water dogs and beach bums, and I am so thankful she is going to take after us!

Anna Claire and Chris! Neither one of them could hardly wait to hit the beach.

Yes, I realize that in about 10 years Anna Claire will truly dislike   hate me for this picture, but I just couldn't resist. I am just thankful that she is having such a wonderful time. I remember the beach trips we took as a kid and this week Chris has told me about trips that he took as a kid. It is so nice to be able to experience some of your greatest childhood memories with your own children!

Anna Claire playing Putt Putt for the first time... I must say that against her daddy's highest hope, Anna Claire will not be a member of the WPGA! Trust me, it quite possibly was the longest putt putt game in the history of games...

I will end this post by asking you to keep my grandmother and Chris's grandfather in your prayers. Grandaddy is doing a little better everyday, but still needs prayers.  My granny he is very weak and is not expected to make it much longer. I ask that you would pray for God's comforting hand to be on her as she leaves this world and enters into God's Almighty Kingdom, where there are no tears or suffering, and as Anna Claire says, "Where you can fly with Jesus! I want to do that someday!" I could not have asked for a better grandmother. She truly is a Godly, strong, caring, and most of all loving woman. I have learned so many lessons from her and I am so thankful that God blessed me with a grandmother like her. She is such a fighter. The biggest lesson I have learned in watching her the past few months is to never lose faith in our Lord. Watching her suffer everyday, yet still have such strong faith has definitely been a life lesson! Thank you, Granny for teaching me what it means to be a loving, caring woman, but most of all what it means to truly have faith in the Lord!
